1. Create Project using ArcCatalog

Create New
Folder (eg. 5-13)

Copy .jpg file
into Project Folder

Open ArcMap
1.5.
Add .jpg File
(using AddData Option)
2. Geo-reference the Raster File

View à Toolbars à Georeference
2.2.
Zoom In to
Left-Top Corner
2.3.
Select Add to
Control Point from Toolbar
2.4.
Click on
Co-ordinate Point
2.5.
Right Click à Select “Input X Y”
2.6.
Type Lat/Longs
(1 Degree = 60 Minutes) àOK
à Zoom Extent

Continue for all
other corners
2.8.
Select
Georeference Tool à
Rectify à Save
3. Create Layers (using ArcCatalog)
3.1.
Roads
3.1.1.
Select Folder à New à Shape File à Roads à Polyline à Edit à Select à GCS à World à WGS_1984.prj à Add à Apply à OK à OK
3.1.2.
Open Roads.shp
into ArcMap
3.1.3.
Remove .jpg file
3.1.4.
Add .img file

Village

River
3.4.
After adding all
layers, save the project (.mxd)
